This home and property has been in my wife's family since 1971 and for the first time it is available for you, your family, and friends to enjoy!  My wife's grandfather, Louis "Bumpy" Thompson and his wife Carolyn retired in Litchfield in the early 70s.  They built this private oasis and lived here for over 20 years.  Bumpy and Carolyn loved Litchfield/Pawleys and were extremely active in the community, if you lived in this area in the 70s & 80s, you most likely knew and loved the Thompson family.   Following Bumpy and Carolyn's passing, their daughter (and her husband) purchased the home from the estate and lived there until 2019.  The house was then purchased and renovated by Bumpy's grand daughter Erin and her husband Zach whose primary residence is located in Greenville, SC

Bumpy's Hideaway is a one of a kind EXTREMELY PRIVATE vacation rental in the heart of Litchfield/Pawleys Island, SC directly off of Hwy 17 right next door to Litchfield by the Sea.

This +-4,800 sf home (WHICH IS ALL ON ONE LEVEL) is a private oasis that's located on a 1.5 acre peninsula directly on the marsh/ Pawleys Island Creek.  The house has unbelievable marsh views and has COMPLETE PRIVACY overlooking the marsh towards Litchfield by the Sea.

Bumpy's Hideaway is a 5 bedroom (ALL bedrooms have King beds), 4 full bath home which has plenty of space for family vacations, reunions, golf trips, business trips or any type of vacation party that wants to truly getaway.

The main house consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.  The master bedroom has 1 king bed & private bath with views of the pool and marsh.  Across from the master you will find 2 guest bedrooms both with king beds separated by a full bathroom and there is also a full bathroom next to one which also functions as the common powder room as well.   Next to this guest room is another King Bedroom with a single bed in the same room. The main house has an oversized sunken living room that hosts an 85 inch TV, large sectional sofa, additional seating, and AWESOME views of the marsh & salt water pool.  The kitchen in the main house opens to a large dining room where there is a dining table for 10 people.  This dining space connects to a covered screened in porch overlooking the pool with 2 ceiling fans and ample seating.  Next to the kitchen/dining room is a large sunroom with GREAT marsh views, a 9 foot slate pool table, 75 inch TV, and great sitting and entertainment space.

Connected to the main house is "Carolyn's Cottage" in which you will find another den and additional apartment kitchen (the apartment den has a set of bunk beds) along with an additional master bedroom and full bath.  Right off of Carolyn's Cottage you will find 2 large decks that also overlook the saltwater pool and marsh.
